For over twenty years I have visited, worked in, and now live in Ukraine. I have watched this country endure what no nation should have to endure. But nothing prepares you for the moment you learn that parents are putting whistles on their children at night—not as toys, but as body-recovery tools. That is the moment strategy stops and humanity starts. The Sound of Life is not a corporate initiative. It is a moral obligation. We built Trident Group to operate in the hardest environments on earth. Today, we are using that presence and those relationships to make sure the world hears the one sound that matters most: a child’s call to be found.
A Simple Object. A Signal of Survival.
Across Ukraine, many parents place a small whistle around their child’s neck before bedtime.
If a missile or drone strike destroys their home at night, that whistle may be the only way rescuers can locate them under the rubble.
What is ordinary elsewhere has become essential for survival.
Why This Campaign Exists
The Sound of Life campaign brings together leaders, institutions, and public voices who choose to stand for life — and for children who continue to grow, learn, and live under the constant threat of attack.
It is grounded in a clear and nonpartisan reality:
Air defense is civilian protection.
Air defense is child protection.
More than 3,200 children have been killed or injured since the full-scale invasion began. Millions more have been displaced or continue to live under daily threat.
