Operating Entity: Trident Group Ukraine LLC
Protecting Your Voice, So You Can Protect Theirs
The “Sound of Life” is a humanitarian awareness campaign launched by Ambassador Olha Stefanishyna of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States, with the operational support of Trident Group Ukraine. Protecting children is not a geopolitical calculation—it is a universal moral imperative. We apply that same standard of uncompromising protection to your privacy.
1. Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
As a general rule, we do not collect PII about you when you visit our website, unless you choose to provide such information to us. Submitting PII through our website is completely voluntary.
When you engage with our “Call to Action” to email Us, we may collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number (for SMS opt-ins, if applicable)
How We Use It: The PII you provide will be used only for its intended purpose: to respond to your inquiry or to provide you with the advocacy routing service you requested. We do not sell your personal data.
Email Communications: We will only send you general campaign information via email. Electronic messages that are not records are deleted when no longer needed.
2. Automatically Collected Information
We collect and temporarily store certain information about your visit for use in site management and security purposes only. We collect and analyze this information because it helps us to better design our website to suit your needs and track the reach of the campaign.
This information includes:
- The Internet domain and Internet Protocol (IP) address from which you access our website.
- The type of browser (e.g., Firefox, Chrome) and operating system used.
- The date and time you access our site, and the URLs of the pages you visit.
This information is only used to help us make our site more useful for you. Raw data logs are retained temporarily as required for security and site management purposes only.
3. Information Collected for Tracking and Customization (Cookies)
A cookie is a small file that a website transfers to your computer to allow it to remember specific information about your session.
- Session Cookies: Last only as long as your web browser is open to enable better navigation through the site.
- Persistent Cookies: Saved on a user’s hard drive to determine which users are new to the site or are returning.
You can turn cookies off in your browser. You will still have access to all information and resources to help break the silence regarding the war in Ukraine, though disabling cookies may affect some site functionality.
4. Security Safeguards
We take precautions to maintain the security, confidentiality, and integrity of the information we collect.
We take the following steps to secure the information we collect:
- Employ internal access controls to ensure that only personnel with a “need-to-know” can access your information.
- Use technical controls to secure the information collected online, including Secure Socket Layer (SSL), Encryption, Firewalls, and Password protections.
- Employ external access safeguards to identify and prevent unauthorized access by outsiders attempting to “hack” the system.
5. Third-Party Websites and Applications
The campaign utilizes social media websites (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube) to bypass geopolitical fatigue and trigger a primal parental protective instinct. The campaign does not use third-party websites to solicit and collect PII from individuals. Any PII passively collected by the third-party website will not be transmitted or stored by us.
Visiting Other Websites: Our website contains links to private organizations and humanitarian funds, such as The Children of Heroes of Ukraine, Voices of Children and Razom for Ukraine. These websites are not within our control. Once you link to another site to make a donation, you are subject to the policies of that site.
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Opt-out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell data)
- Be free from discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
6. Interaction With Children Online (COPPA Compliance)
This campaign brings attention to a chilling reality—Ukrainian children are wearing these whistles to be located by rescue dogs. However, the website itself is designed for adult advocates and policymakers. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data or PII from children under 13 years of age (per COPPA) or 16 years of age (per GDPR). If you are a parent and believe your child has submitted data, please contact us immediately for deletion.
7. Legal Bases & Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Ukraine, we process your data based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your data.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt-out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell data), free from discrimination.
8. Contact Us
We implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
